Hopeful Farm's Stallions

Note from Stud Manager:

Thank you for your interest in Hopeful Farm's stallions. We are proud to present our three world-class stallions Handsome Man, Congenial, and new for the 2011/2012 Breeding Season Perfect Picture. We feel that all of our stallions have excellent potential in the breeding shed and will help generate the next batch of champions for Photo Finish.

Handsome Man was a versatile racer - running at the highest leves from 5 - 10 furlongs on both distances. He had the speed to break world records and the stamina to stay with legends such as Revenge and Spanish Midnight over 10 furlongs. However, Handsome Man found his niche in the sprinting circuit. He won the first two jewels to the Sprinting Triple Crown and broke the World Record for 5.5 furlongs twice with an amazing PSR high of 128. He was nominated for 4 Eclipse Awards - Champion Sprinter (2004), Champion Older Male (2005), Champion Turf Male (2005), Champion Sprinter (2005). In the breeding shed he has had multiple champions foals. His leading foal is Perfect Picture the Breeders Cup Sprint and multiple G1 winner and Eclipse Nominee. However, rising two year olds include the champion fillies Beauty Queen (Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies winner and Eclispe Two-Year Old of the Year) and Inside Scoop who placed 2nd to Beauty Queen in the BC Juvenile and was an Eclipse Nominee.

Congenial was an amazing racer in his day. He raced from the ages of 3 until a veteran of 6 and all at the very highest levels of racing. He won over $8 million dollars during his career. His biggest win coming from the Santa Anita Handicap he won at a veteran age of 5 years old beating out Sobriety and Troll Tower. As a 4 year old he placed 2nd in the Dubai World Cup to Troll Tower (who he would later beat), coming home in front of Dansilver, Sobriety, Nightwing and others of note. In the following two years at 5 and 6 years old he placed 3rd in the Dubai World Cup to the likes of War Machine and our own mare Filly's TC winner Southern Charm (beating Troll Tower). At 6 he came home behind the second mare to win the Filly's TC Madam De Francais.

Perfect Picture is standing at stud for his first season in the 2011/2012 Breeding Season. He is the first son of Handsome Man to stand at stud and is looking to take his place among the breeding stallion ranks. He will carry on Handsome Man's bloodlines to the future generations for many years to come. As a 3 year old this colt won 6 mile races in a row, including many prestigious mile races including the Woodbine Mile, Caulfield Cup, Godolphin Mile, 2000 Guineas, Metropolitan Handicap, Australian Guineas, and the Doncaster Handicap. At 4 years of age, he won the Breeders Cup Sprint and was a nominee for Sprinter of the Year.

Handsome Man was a champion sprinter in 2004 and 2005, although he could run at classic distances with some of the best - Revenge, Spanish Midnight, Congenial. He broke many track records and the World Record for 5.5 furlongs twice.

As a stud Handsome Man has produced many good-looking foals, the first of which hit the trakcs in the 2008 Racing Season. Although, many look like to be sprinters/classic runners like their father, he has also sired sitance loving foals, and most look like they have his speed.

Handsome Man is the sire of:
Perfect Picture - Winner of Breeders Cup Sprint and multiple Group 1 races. Eclipse Sprinter of the Year Nominee
Beauty Queen - Winner of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies and Eclipse Champion 2 Year Old Filly
Perfection - Winner of Newmarket Handicap & Doncaster Handicap; World Record Holder @ 6.5F Dirt.
