#9203. Confederate Tower - 2009
Light Bay Yearling colt, 16.1hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| Confederate Tower $0 0-0-0-0 | Troll Tower $7,642,500 31-6-5-9 | Affirmed Success |
| Very Droll | ||
| Southern Charm $11,050,000 41-25-9-2 | Silver Charm | |
| Safely Kept |
Trainer's Commments: This colt has speed and endurance in his genetics. His sire is a Dubai World Cup winner, and his dam is a Triple Crown and mult-Breeder's Cup winner. This colt looks a lot like his sire, and we are hoping that he has been passed his traits. This colt is bred to be a dirt specialist who should be able to handle classic to long distances. We have big plans for this colt, but we'll know more once he begins training.
#9201. Count Kane - 2009
Dark Chestnut Yearling colt, 15.3hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| Count Kane $0 0-0-0-0 | Kendane $3,131,500 41-9-7-5 | Kenvain |
| Camarena | ||
| Lady Kay $849,000 26-9-6-4 | Kinjite | |
| Triscay |
Trainer's Comments: His sire Kendane was mismanged as a race horse, but we expect that he'll turn into a fine stud stallion. His dam had excellent speed, but could not sustain it long enough to race at the top levels. This colt is bred to be an early sprinter type, who will race on both turf and dirt. Both his parents had tremendous ability, although we are hoping that his sire will pass a bit of his stamina into his sons. He should be a fine sprinter, but we'll know more once he begins training.
#9204. For You to Envy - 2009
Black Yearling colt, 15.3hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| For You to Envy $0 0-0-0-0 | Memcay $13,161,000 25-15-7-3 | Memo |
| Triscay | ||
| Grinder's Daughter $179,550 25-1-0-1 | Grindstone | |
| St Bridget's Well |
Trainer's Comments: This is the second foal by Memcay that Grinder's Daughter carried; we believe that the pairing will be a good one. Memcay is a multi-Breeder's Cup winner and Eclipse winner, who is the best Endurance racer in the game; he still holds the 16 furlong World Record on turf. Grinder's Daughter had some ability, but fell victim to poor management. She has however, produced some classy looking foals - including the world record holder Case Closed. We expect this colt to be a endurance racer like his father, but we'll know more with continued training.
#9205. Inside Scoop - 2009
Bay Yearling filly, 15.3hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| Inside Scoop $0 0-0-0-0 | Handsome Man $3,792,500 43-10-16-11 | Manila |
| Beautiful Pleasure | ||
| Informative $1,405,000 20-8-7-0 | Squirtle Squirt | |
| Inside Information |
Trainer's Comments: This pairing has had us excitied since we decided to retire Informative. This is our only filly in the group, but we have high hopes for her. Our stallion Handsome Man was a champion sprinter and a classy racer as a handicapper. Informative was a strong G2 - G1 racer, although she never hit the elite ring of sprinters, as we expected. We expect this filly will be a dirt specalist, but don't be surprised to see her on the turf. She should be a nice sprinter/miler type filly, but we'll know more as she grows. With our Auction purchase Seduction we expect that we'll have a dynamic duo with our fillies.
#9199. Renaissance - 2009
White Yearling colt, 15.2hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| Renaissance $0 0-0-0-0 | Hideaway $4,880,000 27-7-5-2 | Wheelaway |
| Carson Hollow | ||
| Vice President $237,500 12-1-1-4 | Victory Speech | |
| Sardula |
Trainer's Comments: We found this freshmen stallion in an advertisement from the esteem Rainbow Stables. We found that he excelled on dirt and could run at classic and even long distances. We thought he'd make a fine pair with Vice President. She is a mare who was retired prematurely, and hadn't been able to show her true worth. We believe she would have been a fine classic racer. As such, this colt is expected to race on dirt and turf in the classic races.
#9428. Seduction - 2009
Bay yearling filly, 15.3hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Endless Vista Stud Farm
| Seduction $0 0-0-0-0 | Lure $2,515,289 25-14-8-0 | Danzig |
| Endear | ||
| Beautiful Pleasure $2,734,078 25-10-2-2 | Maudlin | |
| Beautiful Bid |
Trainer's Comments: We have had our eye on this little filly for many months now, and have been waiting for the auction so that we would have a chance to purchase her. She is by Lure, one of only two fillies and the last foal born by this stallion, and out of the mare Beautiful Pleasure; which makes her half to our stallion Handsome Man. Her sire Lure was a turf specalist winning the Breeder's Cup Mile in back to back years. Her dam Beautiful Pleasure was an Eclipse Winner and winner of the Breeder's Cup Distaff. As such, this filly is expected to be a star foal out of Beautiful Pleasure as a sprinter-miler competing up to 9 furlongs on both dirt and turf, but specalizing in the later. She should make a nice compliment to Inside Scoop.
#9200. Treasure Hunter - 2009
Black Yearling colt, 15.2hh
Owner: Hopeful Farm
Breeder: Hopeful Farm
| Treasure Hunter $0 0-0-0-0 | Congenial $8,140,000 42-8-9-11 | Pleasant Colony |
| Triscay | ||
| Baby Greyhound $641,000 16-3-4-6 | Deputy Commander | |
| Heavenly Prize |
Trainer's Comments: This is our second breeding to Congenial, and we believe he'll pair nicely with Baby Greyhound. This black colt, like his father and older 1/2 sister, was bred for the long distances at 12 furlongs or more. Congenial was a wonderful endurance campaigner, but lived in the shadow of Memcay and Chatterbox. We'll know more from our first son of Congenial as time passes.
